Everyone has surely enjoyed hearing and reading the stories about life HIGH UP in the mountains —about Heidi and Peter the Goatherd. But very few people realize that not much has changed in the High Alps to this day. Life here still means hard work. After all, the terrain is too rugged to cultivate the meadows and pastures with modern vehicles. The space is too small to install expensive technology. And the time frame is too short to produce profitably—and thus ensure the family’s well-being.
Yet there are people who defy these harsh conditions—with incredible courage and total dedication—returning to their roots, out of love— love for their homeland.
