Because what many take for granted is denied to so many:
Water. The elixir of life.

On my travels through the world’s deserts, I learned to grapple with the issue of drinkable water on a daily basis. I experienced just how frightening it can be to have no water—or only a little. And I learned to ration it and to appreciate every single drop, every single sip.

When I was growing up, it wasn’t a given that water would always be available everywhere in the house. Often, the spring would run dry after a dry fall. During the bitterly cold season, the water line would frequently freeze. Then my father would give the order: “Boys, go get some water!” Carrying large jugs, we’d have to trudge through deep snow to the old barn, where water ran day and night. There we’d fill the jugs, bring them back to the Hubertus, and distribute them in the kitchen, in the guest rooms—or “rooms for strangers,” as they were called back then—and in the restrooms.
It’s unimaginable these days.

Today at HUBERTUS, we have top-quality water sourced from our own HUBERTUS spring. It’s healthy, energizing, and invigorating.

Every time I pour myself a glass, I ask for “good water.”
And every time, I give thanks for this blessing. Sip by sip.
