Active Vacation in the Mountains at Hotel HUBERTUS in Balderschwang
GETTING HERE
The Fastest Way to the Allgäu

Balderschwang in the Allgäu

Calm. That moves you.

Balderschwang is home to the HUBERTUS Mountain Refugio Allgäu. At 1,044 meters above sea level, it is Germany’s highest—and at the same time smallest—independent municipality. A high valley that used to be accessible only from Austria. Even today, the hustle and bustle of everyday life, negative stress, and external pressures remain shut out here. Instead, you’ll find idyllic Alpine landscapes with traditional cheese dairies, secluded trails, charming paths, and thoughtfully laid-out hiking and cross-country ski trails—where you can walk, cross-country ski, or bike up and down the mountains and through the valleys to reconnect with yourself.
The process of slowing down begins even on the way here—whether you’re coming from the German side via the Riedberg Pass or through the Bregenz Forest in Vorarlberg, Austria.

- Düsseldorf Central Station

- Hamburg-Altona

- Lörrach Main Station

- Munich South
