Yin Yoga & the Transformative Power of the Breath with Andrea Kurth
The gentle magic of Yin Yoga brings our awareness back to our bodies. We allow ourselves to sink into opening poses and a deep, nourishing relaxation. There is nothing left to do, nothing left to achieve… we are simply allowed to BE. In this way, we replenish our deepest sources of strength.
In our increasingly fast-paced daily lives, there’s hardly any time left for recovery, and we end up overloading our nervous system. The combination of gentle, nourishing Yin Yoga sequences and deeply relaxing breathing exercises acts like a reset.
We’ll explore the transformative power of the breath, and you’ll learn energizing and calming breathing exercises that can help you restore balance to your nervous system. These brief periods of regeneration are like a soothing balm for your nervous system. And you can take this effect home with you: your nervous system can find its rhythm again, you’ll feel more connected to yourself, your sleep will be more restful, your energy levels and concentration will increase, and it will become easier to make clear decisions and recognize your own needs.
Andrea Kurth is a body and trauma therapist, Yin Yoga teacher, and Transformational Breathwork coach. She lives and works in Munich. Her passion is helping people rediscover the wisdom of their bodies—in her practice, in workshops, and in group settings.
During the retreat, we’ll start the morning with gently energizing Yin Yoga poses, move on to invigorating breathing exercises, and end the session with quiet meditation. You’ll start your day feeling refreshed, clear-headed, and relaxed.
In the evening, I’ll guide you through a nourishing Yin Yoga sequence that gently opens you up and releases all tension from your body, emotions, and thoughts. Then we’ll transition into a parasympathetic breathing journey. The slow, calm, and deep breathing through the nose sends signals to the brain that it’s now safe to relax. You’ll lie down and breathe, carried along by soundscapes. Very gradually, you’ll sink into ever-deeper relaxation, into stillness and expansiveness, and experience an indescribable state of lightness.
