A ZEST FOR LIFE: That is our guiding principle at HUBERTUS. Those who love life open themselves up to its wonders—to those small, magical moments that enrich every day.
A key to this is the “beginner’s mind”—a concept from Zen Buddhism. It invites us to see the world again and again as if everything were completely new. This awakens a sense of wonder, and our soul can breathe a sigh of relief.
Especially in times when everyday life often seems monotonous, this mindset helps us discover what’s special in the familiar: the scent of the forest, the taste of fresh mountain air, the feeling of protection and security.

Our mindfulness teacher, Doris Iding, reminds us time and again: A strong soul rests on five pillars—mindfulness, work, exercise, nutrition, and serenity.
If one of these pillars begins to waver, the others will carry us forward.
MINDFULNESS
Focus your attention on the good things. When your mind gets caught in a cycle of negativity, say “Stop!” to yourself and return to the here and now. Your breath can help—breathe in, breathe out—and you’ll soon feel that everything is okay right now.
WORK
Find your own pace. Set clear priorities and allow yourself moments of quiet when you can focus and work without distractions.
EXERCISE
Walk whenever possible. Hike mindfully—perhaps in silence—with your senses open to whatever you encounter. And don’t forget to laugh, breathe, and live in the moment.
NUTRITION
Choose what’s truly good for you: fresh, natural foods, water, and herbal teas instead of sugary drinks, and colorful, locally grown fruits and vegetables. Every meal is an opportunity to show your body some love.
COMPOSURE
Calm. Space. Clarity.
Sit up straight, place your hand on your stomach, and feel: With every breath, space opens up—in your body, heart, and mind. Serenity grows where we let go and simply be.

Do something good for yourself. Nurture your five pillars—whether you’re on vacation with us at HUBERTUS or beyond. Because when you embrace life, you strengthen not only your body but also your soul.
