Yoga Retreats at the HUBERTUS Wellness Hotel

It's fun, good for you, and relaxes both body and mind—especially when experts like Gabriela Bozic are on hand.

For many years now, I’ve taken great pleasure in organizing yoga retreats for the Hubertus. It’s always very important to me that the yoga teachers are highly qualified yet remain authentic. I believe I’ve managed to strike that balance very well. We now have many yoga teachers who come regularly, and our guests look forward to seeing them long before the retreat begins. Author and Yin Yoga specialist Tanja Seehofer, as well as Aquila Camenzind and other yoga luminaries, treat our guests to the very best yoga! And of course, our yoga instructors, such as Sammy and Fred, always strive to tailor the yoga sessions in the activity program to the guests’ specific needs.

Sometimes, however, it takes a little longer for me to secure a particular teacher for a retreat. That’s when yogic virtues like perseverance, patience, and equanimity come into play. It took me a full three years to convince Gabriela Bozic to lead a retreat. Gabriela is one of Germany’s most prominent yoga teachers; she regularly appears in GALA magazine and attends all the major yoga conferences.

In July, the time had finally come. Gabriela led a retreat, and along with 14 other guests, I stretched, relaxed—and sweated—under her guidance. Those four days were a real treat. Gabriela possesses a wonderful blend of intelligence, humor, and deep knowledge. Her yoga classes are full of ease, yet she challenges everyone to the extent that they are able or willing. Her corrections in the asanas are spot-on, and you quickly sense just how much experience she has in yoga.

By the end of the retreat, all the participants were feeling much less tense and had a few more laugh lines!

Yesterday she sent me the schedule for next year. We'll have her back there in September. I'm already looking forward to it.
